Japanese Literature Challenge 9

The Challenge: To read at least one book of Japanese literature between June 2015 and January 2016.

I loved this challenge last year and read five books. This year I am aiming to read eight books.

The challenge is hosted by dolce bellezza.

Here are my reviews:

Audition by Ryu Murakami

Hardboiled and Hard Luck by Banana Yoshimoto

Now You’re One of Us by Asa Nonami

Revenge by Yoko Ogawa

Last Winter We Parted by Fuminori Nakamura

Gush by Yo Hemmi

Strange Weather in Tokyo by Hiromi Kawakami

  1. Can’t wait to hear what your eight books are, an ambitious goal! However, I myself am planning on (hoping to?) read twenty. I have neglected a shelf of Japanese literature for far too long. So glad that you’re participating again. xo

    • I am really impressed with your 20! Last year I read what was easily available to me so I want to try and branch out a bit this year. Last challenge I met both Keigo Higashino and Yoko Ogawa and would like to read more by both authors. I also want to try something by Ryu Murakami, Banana Yoshimoto, Yasanuri Kawabata and Kobo Abe. Minato’s Confessions and Kawakami’s Strange Weather in Tokyo are also on my TBR list… So long as I can find the time I’m not really short of options! Fingers crossed!
