I wrote an exciting post at the end of January about February in Finland, my own personal reading challenge where I planned to spend this month reading authors from Finland. However, I haven’t posted anything since, so what happened?
Well, after spending these long winter months striding along while those around me collapsed with nasty winter flus and viruses, this month has been my turn. I have finally crawled out of bed and am feeling better.
Not all has been lost. Despite feeling rubbish I have read three excellent novels that kept my wavering concentration:
The Brothers by Asko Sahlberg
The Healer by Antti Tuomainen
The Hummingbird by Kati Hiekkapelto
I am also currently reading the second book in the series by Kati Hiekkapelto, The Defenceless which is probably even more brilliant than the first.
Reviews to follow.
Finally, I have also launched one of hopefully two giveaways on my blog this month: The Brothers by Asko Sahlberg. (Kindly donated by the wonderful people at Peirene Press).
Hopefully the second half of the month will be a little more productive!
